(≧ω≦) Kawaii Lifestyle! (≧ω≦) ♥ Sports And Dancewear! ♥

Both Haz and Nat are musical theatre students! That means that a fair amount of time in their week is spent at dance classes, doing tap or ballet or fitness training! (✖╭╮✖) See, the thing about doing so much physical exertion ( (╯︵╰,) ) is that it can make you feel hot, sweaty and really gross! Basically, it doesn't fit in with the idea of "kawaii lifestyle" at all! (╥_╥)

"Okay", you're thinking - "that sounds horrifying, but what does that have to do with me? I'm not a musical theatre student - I don't need to care about feeling horrible whilst I dance!" (¬_¬) But exercise is good for you! Exercise makes you feel good in yourself and makes you feel happy! (◕‿◕✿) Exercising is really good for toning up and slimming down and fitting into those downright ridiculous One-Size J-Fashion garments! (╯◕_◕)╯Now, neither of us are going to be fitting into them in the near future, but just knowing that we might get there if we carry on is enough of an incentive for me! ლ(╹◡╹ლ)

A lot of the time I feel so gross in my dance clothes! I tend to stay with plain leggings and T-Shirts and things that will cover me up as much as possible (when I don't have to be in a leotard, that is!) But we've both been talking and talking and promoting the idea of "kawaii lifestyle". So we thought; 'why not extend kawaii lifestyle to a not particularly kawaii part of our lives''? So this post is going to be a cute little wishlist of adorable things that we could add to our exercising wardrobe so that we can feel kawaii even whilst we're sweating! (。◕‿◕。)

Water Bottle / Shirt / Shorts - All from Forever 21

Bag / Hoodie / Leggings - All from eBay

Shirt 1 / Shirt 2 / Shirt 3 - etsy (I would recommend checking out the shops these came from for more cute t shirt designs!)

That's all for now! I worry a lot about posting "wishlist" type posts because we can both go on and on and on about what things we'd buy if we only had the money! I hope this post inspired you to exercise, or dance, or at least buy some hella cute exercise type clothes so you can feel adorable! (∪ ◡ ∪)

(。◕‿◕。) ♥ Frillytime #2: Lolitapop Playlist! ♥ (。◕‿◕。)

Hello! Today we thought we'd share with you a pink-themed, cute playlist to get ready to or to jam out to when you're on your own and want to feel like a princess! Both of us have been through very different tastes in their musical lives - Haz used to listen to a lot of pop punk and Nat has cycled through everything from country to operatic metal to dark cabaret! So hopefully, this playlist will contain something for everyone! ∩(︶▽︶)∩

Lenka - The Show
HAZ: (giggles) I don't know - I like it 'cos it's got a really catchy [reads what I'm writing, leaves giant pause, laughs] I think it has a really catchy tune, and it's just bubbly and - I don't know, I like it, it makes me happy. That was very eloquent, you're welcome. I don't like being put on the spot like this - you better not write that down!

Kahimi Karie - Lolitapop Dollhouse
NAT:  This song was the reason I wanted to make this post! I think in general my music taste leans a little bit darker and angrier than Hazel's, and I think that this is a really good example of at once adorable and kind of angry; I've always been interested in social justice and feminism and I think this is such a good song to dance around to and express your feelings with! Also, Kahimi's voice has such a soft and dreamy quality to it even when the music is pretty harsh!

Stephanie J Block - Never Neverland (Fly Away)
HAZ: This song makes me think of fairytales and storybooks and being a fairytale character! And that's kind of how I feel about wearing lolita - like I'm a character in a fairytale. Like I've been written by an author as a character in a book. Oh, and this song makes me think about how children picture these characters and how we've all heard those stories about lolitas who've been stopped in the street and told about how they're princesses and I don't know it just makes me feel really happy!

Call Me A Princess - Deleted Song From Aladdin
NAT:  I'm joining in with Hazel's Disney theme from up there! I could pretty much put any Disney song on this playlist, but this song just seems to fit in so well with the way I feel when I'm getting ready for lolita and when I'm head to toe in my finery! Even if the sentiment of this song isn't the most adorable or polite, this song really does make me feel like a pampered princess and it's very nice to momentarily relax in the idea of being a princess who can break down a carriage and immediately get themselves a replacement!

PONPONPON - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (Music Box Version)
HAZ: Although I love the original version of this song, I love this version because it just makes me think of a doll going around in a music box and how when I was little I used to love watching the ballerina in my mum's jewellery box go around and around because it was so relaxing and I was really envious of her tutu!

Fight Like A Girl - Emilie Autumn
NAT:  Okay, I love Emilie Autumn. Her music pretty much saved my life - but that's a cliche most of her fans go through with, so I won't over gush about it here. Fight Like A Girl is basically her fighting girl power anthem, and I defy you not to listen to it and feel a little bit empowered by your own femininity! I love love love this song, it always gets me up and raring to go and own myself and who I am!

Some other tracks to listen to and enjoy on your own personal Lolitapop Playlist:

So there you have it! A little start off to a playlist for a lolita! ✿◠‿◠) What about you? What songs would be on your ideal LolitaPop Playlist?

✿ (。♥‿♥。) Cute Homewares! (。♥‿♥。) ✿

A-hoy-hoy! ✿ Haznat here again, delivering some friendly, kawaii blogging news! Now, as you may or may not know, both of us are currently studying at college and hoping to move onto studying at university (or maybe even a theatre school! (╯ಊ╰)) next year, and we've already started to do a teeny tiny little bit of shopping whilst our own personal aesthetic is in mainstream style! (◕‿-)

As you've probably guessed from this blog's posts, theme and overall ideas, both of us are very very into the idea of cute and kawaii as a lifestyle! (◕‿◕✿) We love unicorns, sparkly things and pastels! This is good for us, as currently pastels are very much the in thing! We've been stocking up on cute homewares for our little room and kitchen at uni (hopefully together!) whilst we can! ∩(︶▽︶)∩ And if it doesn't work out for university, I'm sure all of this stuff can keep until we make our little home together! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

First up, an adorable little mixing bowl for any mixing needs we might have whilst we're away! There were a few designs to choose from, but we thought this little sentiment was just so cute! 。◕ ‿ ◕。

These pastel beakers just looked so cute in their matching colours, we couldn't resist them! We may have bought too many, but it's always good to be prepared, right? (・∀・ )

We are - hopefully! - planning on baking a lot of treats for our friends, both now and at uni and hopefully beyond! We always have to take cupcakes and buns in tins that squishes all of the icing up, so hopefully this is going to solve that problem! ( ´∀`)☆

OK, I'll admit it - maybe this is mainly a baking haul! Still, neither of us are particularly good cooks - (=゜ω゜) - but we can at least understand baking! We thought the pattern on this was so cute, and the tin it comes in is always going to be helpful! (^▽^)

Some more useful baking things! This might also come in helpful with doing cute deco, so it's dual purpose! (´ω`)

We bought probably far too much stuff from the Jane Asher Poundland range - but all of it was in such pretty pastel hues! We couldn't decide between the pink and the lavender (and lots of things were only available in one or the other in our local store!) so we have a little hodge podge of colours that hopefully will look adorable in our kitchen! (≧ω≦)

Some more things from the adorable range, both in lavender! We are so excited to be able to put these out on display in our kitchen, you have no idea! (✿◠‿◠)

These were some of the things we could only get in the pink! Still, even if they don't match perfectly, I'm sure they won't stick out too much! (´ω`) I'm especially happy with the ice cream/cake mix scoop - I personally hate the part of baking where you have to hope you've got the cake mix even. (-_- )ノ

This was a really interesting find! (^^;) Both of us are fans of the Food Network show 'Cupcake Wars', and we're always talking about trying out cupcake recipes - one of the things we're always complaining about here is how dry our cupcakes are! So we're very excited to be able to make delicious and moist filled cupcakes! (*~▽~) Also, at 99p, it seemed too good to pass up!

We also bought some more supplies for baking! Both Nat and Haz's birthdays are coming up, so maybe some cute cupcakes might even be baked to surprise one another! ∩(︶▽︶)∩

Finally, we picked up 2 important necessities - food containers and oven gloves! They're both in cute pastels to match our kitchen range, and the oven glove was even reduced! Both of us might love kawaii, but we also love bargains! (◕‿-)

So there's our pastel homeware haul of things for now! We've also got some cute little Mickey Mouse tea towels and a macaroon cutting board squirrelled away, but we haven't got any photos of those for now! All of the above came to less than £20 in total, which we're both very pleased with! (o´ω`o)

What about you? Does your kitchen have a theme, or is there a very important baking equipment item that we definitely need to purchase? Leave a comment and tell us all about it! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

•ᴥ• ✧*✧An Update, And An Apology! ✧*✧ •ᴥ•

Hello! It's been a little while, hasn't it? (´・ω・`) Sorry! Still, we've had a little bit of a hectic few months, that we'll try and explain with our traditional round up post! ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ

To begin with, we got engaged! (。♥‿♥。) We've been together for over a year now, and we've been talking about our future together seriously for a little while! (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ We're both so happy and so excited to start planning for the rest of our lives! ♥

To celebrate our engagement, we went and had frozen yogurt at Nandos! (✿◠‿◠) In the ensuing few weeks, we also planned to see a concert of a local musicals society, and bought some cute things to celebrate! We found Baby Lips, which both of us have wanted to try for ages, for only a £1! (o´ω`o) The outfit on the right is what Haz wore for the concert! (◡‿◡✿)

We've been out a few times for various celebrations since! (*~▽~) We saw Divergent at the cinema, where we don't go very often because of how expensive tickets have gotten! ( ̄へ ̄)Nat had read the book a little while ago, but Haz literally read it the day before we saw the movie! ( ^▽^) We both enjoyed the movie, but we liked the book a lot more!  (^▽^) We also went to Pizza Hut with one of our friends and had the most delicious cookie dough dessert! ( ಠ◡ಠ )

We added a new page to our scrapbook all about Lolita and how it's impacted us both! (≧◡≦) The art in the upper left was done by our lovely friend Tama, who's a very talented artist! It also includes cute Paperchase stickers and one of our Bodyline tags! ( ´∀`)☆ Nat also took a little trip to Toys R' Us and bought some Frozen chocolate eggs that had little figures in them! We were a little disappointed in them, because the Disney Princess Kinder Eggs that are currently in stores have such nice toys and these figures felt so small and cheap! ( ̄□ ̄)

Ok, so these are a very teeny bit out of order! We had some pre-audition pancakes at a local Wetherspoons (Nat's first Wetherspoons experience! The pancakes were absolutely delicious!) (。◕‿◕。)! We also had a little shopping trip and picked up some very cute soft pastels and dresses from a vintage shop! (。♥‿♥。) Hopefully you'll see a few of the items we chose when we start posting outfit shots! ♥

And, finally, the other reason we've been away for so long! Most of our days in May and the last half of April were spent in rehearsal and finally performing in Les Misérables, a show we've been rehearsing for since September! It was so hectic that we've definitely not had time to keep Petticats updated, much less wear cute outfits every day and document them! (︶︹︺) It was such a fun and interesting experience, though, and I think everyone in the whole cast had a fabulous time! (。♥‿♥。)

Well, there you have it! The reasons we've been away and a little glimpse into our lives whilst we were gone! (╯3╰) Now that all of the hectic excitement is over, hopefully we'll be sticking to a much more regular update pattern! (◑‿◐)
